Depositary Head - Depositary Alternative Assets

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Depositary Head to join our team, specializing in alternative assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private equity, real estate, and other alternative structures, with a focus on ensuring compliance and protecting investors' interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Focus: Defend investors' interests while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Client Onboarding: Engage in the client onboarding process, assess AIF/UCITS strategies, and determine appropriate oversight procedures.
  • Due Diligence: Create, adapt, and review due diligence questionnaires and related documentation. Perform risk-based analysis and report on contractual engagements.
  • Inspections: Prepare and conduct on-site inspections of AIF/UCITS administrators and other delegates.
  • Documentation: Obtain and assess legal documentation to fulfil depositary ownership verification and record-keeping duties.
  • Issue Escalation: Escalate issues with internal stakeholders, including department heads and senior management.
  • Team Supervision: Assist, supervise, and coordinate the team in their day-to-day activities.
  • Process Enhancement: Enhance operational processes as needed.
  • Backup Role: Act as a backup for the Head of Department.

Your Profile:

  • Education: University degree in business administration, finance, law, or a related field, or relevant expertise in the domain.
  • Experience: At least 8 years of experience in the banking and financial industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of depositary duties, AIFMD & UCITS regulations, and financial markets and instruments.
  • Skills: High analytical skills, strong personality, excellent influencing, negotiating, and communication skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to work with different systems and a high level of risk and controls knowledge.
