Banking Accountant

Job Description:

Join the Finance Department as a Banking Accountant! You will be in charge of maintaining the bank's general accounting and preparing reliable financial statements in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. You will also contribute to the preparation of regulatory reports for local authorities and the parent company.

Your Main Missions:

Social Accounting:

  • Maintaining accounting in local standards (LuxGaap), FrenchGaap, and IFRS, including the production of end-of-month entries.
  • Preparation of monthly accounts according to French standards and IFRS.
  • Justification of the accounting accounts under your responsibility.
  • Opening of transitional accounts and profit/loss accounts in the bank's accounting systems.

Reporting and Consolidation:

  • Preparation of regulatory financial statements intended for local authorities (BCL, CSSF) based on the entity's own accounts.
  • Production of Luxembourg regulatory reports for the BCL and the CSSF.
  • Participation in the production of regular reports intended for the parent company and participation in the consolidation of financial statements.
  • Key players in the Intra Group reconciliation process.
  • Monitoring requests from local authorities, government bodies (Statec, etc.).
  • Calculation and communication of the amounts of the mandatory reserve.
  • Ensuring consistency between regulatory, statutory, and internal productions.
  • Contribution to the optimization of financial and regulatory reporting production processes.

Taxes:

  • Preparation and control of monthly VAT returns for the Bank and Entities.
  • Preparation of annual VAT returns for the Bank and Entities.
  • Calculation of the monthly tax provision.
  • Preparation of annual tax returns for the Bank and Entities.
  • Preparation and control of other declarations specific to Luxembourg.
  • Tax reporting for the parent company.

Audits and Projects:

  • Participation in quarterly audits and management of auditor requests.
  • Ensure continuous accounting and regulatory monitoring to ensure compliance with new standards.
  • Contribution to the implementation of process improvement projects in the finance department.
  • You will join a department in full evolution with digitalization and accounting process improvement projects underway at Group level.

Candidate Criteria:

  • Minimum Level of Education: Bac + 5 / M2 and above.
  • Training / Specialization: You have training in Finance or have a degree in accounting.
  • Minimum Level of Experience: 3 - 5 years.
  • Skills Sought:
    • Knowledge of general banking and corporate accounting and in particular IFRS standards.
    • IT tools: Very good command of Excel. Knowledge of PowerBI is a plus.
  • Languages: You are fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
