Senior Functional Analyst - Investment Funds Services IT


Job Summary:

The Senior Functional Analyst is responsible for identifying and analysing functional and business requirements, validating and justifying business needs, conducting feasibility studies, and producing both high-level and detailed business models. This role involves defining and modelling alternative options, developing concepts, and preparing business cases. The Senior Functional Analyst will oversee the development and implementation of solutions, ensuring that functional requirements and design are met.

This position requires a deep understanding of the Investment Funds Services IT landscape, with responsibilities ranging from assessing the impact of changes to ensuring end-to-end delivery and collaboration with business partners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Functional Analysis and Design:

    • Study the impact of changes within the Investment Funds Services IT landscape.
    • Analyse existing services and design future features related to Investment Funds, including Order Routing, Settlement, Trailer Fees, Corporate Actions, Custody, Fund Transfer, Regulatory Reporting, and Billing.
    • Provide detailed analysis and recommendations within set deadlines and budgets for assigned projects.
  • Project Management and Coordination:

    • Ensure end-to-end roadmap consistency and identify synergies within and across domains.
    • Update planning artifacts, manage resource capacity, and ensure the consistency of status reports.
    • Co-manage end-to-end project management across all the business segments, target company business partners, and external stakeholders (banks, advisors, auditors).
    • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Requirements Engineering:

    • Elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
    • Prepare and present findings and solutions to both business and IT teams, including development and architecture groups within the team.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Educational Background:

    • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a computer-based discipline or from a business school.
  • Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business and functional analysis, preferably within the financial or investment services sector.
    • Strong experience in requirements engineering and modelling tools.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Unified Modelling Language (UML) is required.
    • Knowledge and experience with Agile methodologies.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering effective solutions in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • A proactive and collaborative team player who can work effectively across different teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Languages:

    • Fluency in English is mandatory.
    • Proficiency in French and/or German is considered an asset.
  • Certifications:

    • A Business Analyst certification is a plus.
